Wednesday November 24th will mark the kickoff of the 3rd annual “Thoughts for Food” Autumn Harvest benefit, a multi-venue concert benefitting the Racine County Food Bank.
In the past 18 years the Thoughts for Food events have raised $318,848.00 and 72,863 pounds of food to help the Food Bank provide much needed assistance to pantries, shelters and meal programs throughout Racine County.
The event kicks off at 6:30 pm with an all-ages show at the YMCA featuring 7 different youth bands: Our Arsenal, Katie Lafond, A Place For The End, East of You, Ruckus, Gametime! and Of Appollo. Admission to the all-ages show is $5.00 and 2 non-perishable food items.
Wednesday’s main event takes place in Sturtevant and Racine’s South side with 3 venues sponsoring stages including: Fountain Banquet Hall, Hiawatha Pub & Grill and McAuliffe’s Pub. Volunteers will begin collecting the admission of $10.00 and 2 non-perishable food items at 7:00 pm. One admission includes a wristband that grants access to all three venues. Entertainment includes: Mean Jake, Zicomatic, Pavlik, Stellman and Martin, Rude Rooster, EZ Livin’, Final Approach and Razor’s Edge. Starting times vary by location with the earliest beginning at 8:00 pm. For more information, please visit www.thoughtsforfood.org.
The Racine County Food Bank is a United Way Partner Provider that provides free food to hunger fighting agencies across Racine County who, in turn, provided almost 800,000 meals to our neighbors in need last year.
